Extreme By Design (directed by Ralph King and Michael Schwarz), a film edited by Don Bernier about young social entrepreneurs at Stanford University, will make its broadcast premiere on PBS on Wednesday, 12/11/13, at 10pm. Check your local listings.

This year, Bernier has been working with SF based Actual Films on a series of projects for Google [x] (Google's secret "moonshot" lab). In June, [x] publicly unveiled their latest idea: Project Loon. It's a new way to deliver reliable Internet via balloons to the billions of people on the planet who don't have it. Here's a short video Bernier edited for their launch in New Zealand.

01 Jun 12 Sundance Documentary Edit & Story Labs

The Genius of Marian was one of nine documentaries-in-progress selected to participate in the 2012 Documentary Edit & Story Labs. This summer, co-directors Banker White and Anna Fitch, and editor Don Bernier, will join 21 other filmmaking Fellows for a nine-day retreat in the mountains of Utah. The Sundance Institute Documentary Film Program & Fund pairs filmmaking teams with world renowned documentary editors and directors to address current challenges in their work and support creative risk-taking around issues of story, dramatic structure, and character development.
