Synopsis The Real Deadwood: Out of the Ashes (2008, 29:55, DV). Kikim Media's behind-the-scenes and historical features for DVD releases of HBO's Deadwood series have set a new standard for DVD bonus material. The upcoming Deadwood special box-set DVD will be released later this year and will include a new historical special co-directed by Michael Schwarz and Alex Beckstead, entitled The Real Deadwood: Out of the Ashes. This mini-documentary featurette picks up where the popular HBO series left off, following several of the real-life characters as well as the fate of the town itself from 1879 to present day.
