January 2007:
Elizabeth Yegsa Tashjian died on Sunday, January 28, 2007 at the Gladeview Health Care Center in Old Saybrook, CT. For those of us who were fortunate enough to know her, even if briefly, our lives are a little brighter.

To help spread Elizabeth's gospel of the nut, In a Nutshell is in the process of being distributed on DVD for purchase or rental. When it becomes available, notice will be posted on this website. Stay tuned!

August 2006:
In a Nutshell wins Best Documentary prize at the 2006 Silver Images Film & Video Awards This annual competition, sponsored by Chicago's Terra Nova Films, recognizes media that "present stories about older adults... entertainingly but without condescension."

November 2005:
Filmmaker Magazine nominated In a Nutshell for a Gotham Award in a new category of undistributed festival favorites: "Best Film Not Playing at a Theater Near You." The 15th annual ceremony was presented by IFP-New York

October 2005:
In a Nutshell received a Crystal Heart Award for Documentary Feature at the Heartland Film Festival's Gala in Indianapolis.

In a Nutshell took home the award for Best Documentary Feature at the Red Bank International Film Festival.
Elizabeth Tashjian comes out of her shell in her community of Old Lyme, CT.

July 2005:
While showing In a Nutshell in Maine, Don makes page two of his hometown paper The Times Record in Brunswick.

April 2005:
In a Nutshell received a distribution grant from NYSCA's Electronic Media and Film Program.

Elizabeth Tashjian (and In a Nutshell) were the Talk of the Town in the April 18th issue of The New Yorker.

November 2004:
The dynamic duo of So Design Co. (designers of In a Nutshell's opening sequence) were written up in the 2004 November Design Annual issue of Communication Arts magazine.

October 2004:
In a Nutshell was featured in this month's Production Report on indieWIRE.

July 2004:
In a Nutshell received a Jerome Hill Centennial Grant from the Jerome Foundation. Funding will be used for post-production completion costs.

February 2004:
A retrospective exhibit entitled "The Nut Museum: Visionary Art of Elizabeth Tashjian" opened at the Lyman Allyn Art Museum, New London CT.
