Synopsis

Zoo (1998, 32:40, DV) is an experimental documentary short produced over the course of three years while visiting zoological gardens around the world. At each site, zoo-goers were given a letter of the alphabet and asked to describe their feelings about the city they lived in or were visiting. Using the Medieval-Latin bestiary as a format, and the contemporary "conservation park" as a site, Zoo focuses on the condition of urban inhabitants today - both human and nonhuman.
